My LLM Journey: Building 30+ AI Agents at Age 19

π‘ The Big Question: What Skills Are Future-Proof?
I'm currently in my first year of BSc Computer Science at FICS, and like many others, I found myself constantly grappling with a central question: What skill won’t be replaced in the future? What will still be in high demand?
I spent days searching online, often feeling frustrated. With the AI boom, I saw lots of people fearing that their jobs would disappear. But my focus wasn't on fear; I was trying to find the area that would gain real traction in the future.
After much reflection, I realized the world is fundamentally changing. Companies no longer need thousands of workers for routine tasks. This led to a more specific question: What can I create that can’t be easily replaced, that allows me to be my own owner, that people truly value, and that represents genuine innovation as an engineer?
Discovering the Power of LLMs (Large Language Models)
That search led me to Large Language Models (LLMs)—a technology with immense, game-changing potential. ChatGPT was the spark, but it truly came into the spotlight when people started seeing its practical applications and, more importantly, the profit potential.
I noticed other models like Gemini, but it was clear to me: the era was changing, and I had to adapt quickly. Even if I was a little ahead of some, I knew there were thousands more I needed to catch up with. The need to learn future-proof skills in AI became my driving force.
π§ Discipline: My 1% Daily Learning Commitment
I understood immediately that procrastination wouldn't help. So, I trained myself with a simple, powerful goal: learn 1% every day about LLMs, AI, and ML.
I constantly asked: "What are people using these tools for? What is really possible?"
I imagined a machine that could perform complex tasks, even mimic human emotion in some way—though I knew the true human touch is irreplaceable. Every free moment became a learning opportunity; I read, watched tutorials, and absorbed all the information I could.
Gradually, I wasn't blank about LLMs anymore. I knew the basics, the immense potential, and most importantly, the key difference between using AI tools and creating them. Many were simply embedding LLMs into basic chatbots, but in my mind, that wasn't innovation. As I learned, I realized: “Anyone could make a chatbot—that's not creativity.”
π ️ The Shift: Why AI Agents Are Different from Chatbots
Because of this constant curiosity, I stumbled upon AI agents—and I instantly loved them. I desperately wanted to understand AI agents vs chatbots, and what truly sets an AI agent apart.
I started learning AI and ML at 19 in a systematic way, but the resources were frustratingly fragmented; there was no clear flow or single course. Still, I followed my discipline and, piece by piece, learned enough to finally build AI tools and my own complex AI agents.
This led me to start my YouTube channel, Protocol Genesis, where I teach about AI tools, LLMs, and AI agents. My goal there isn't just to make videos—it’s to innovate, create, and educate reliably, not just sell content like many others.
My Foundation: Combining Skills to Innovate
When I started this journey, I was completely new to coding—I had never even seen a computer before. Today, thanks to that consistent effort, I’ve built 20–30 AI agents, from small experiments to bigger projects. I’ve worked extensively with tools like LangChain and LangGraph, creating custom workflows and real applications.
Thanks to the "how I started my LLM journey" mindset, I now have a broad foundation in multiple areas:
- AI and LLMs
- Web and app development (building frontend and backend systems)
- Backend systems and cloud hosting
- Trading and product engineering
- Creative skills like UI design, content creation, and even singing!
I’m not claiming to know everything, but I’ve gained a broad set of skills that allow me to see the world differently—to innovate and combine skills across diverse fields. Focusing on being 1% better each day keeps me moving forward.
My Reflections and Advice for the Next Generation
I’ve learned a great deal over the past one to two years, and I’m still just 19. Here’s what I want to share with anyone learning AI and ML at 19:
- Don’t Fear, Innovate: Stop fearing the future or new technology. Instead, focus on learning skills that can’t be replaced—critical thinking, creativity, and the ability to solve complex problems with new tools.
- Concentration is Power: If you feel you don’t have time, reflect on whether you’ve been spreading yourself too thin. Concentration and persistence matter more than raw intelligence.
- Human Skills Always Win: Even if AI can do a lot, it can’t replace true experience, out-of-the-box creativity, or real human touch and emotional intelligence. These are the non-negotiables.
I truly hope my journey inspires you to stay curious, keep learning, and start innovating today.
